Wendy Williams, 60, made a rare public appearance yesterday at Miami International Airport while travelling to attend her father’s birthday.
The former talk show icon, who has stepped away from the spotlight following her early-onset dementia diagnosis, was seen riding a mobility scooter through the terminal while carrying a black bag with labels reading” and high Maintenance.”
The appearance comes after her family launched a GoFundMe campaign in January, seeking to raise $50,000 (£39,000) to help bring her back to her rightful home in Florida.

Documents obtained by The US Sun at the end of 2024 described Wendy as an acclaimed entertainer who has tragically been affected by early-onset dementia and is now cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.
Wells Fargo prompted the decision to initiate guardianship. The bank took action after a “pattern of disturbing events” related to Wendy’s well-being and sought guardianship in January 2022 to manage her financial affairs.
Despite her guardianship, Wendy has been vocal about her situation. In January, she called into The Breakfast Club and tearfully denied being cognitively impaired. During the emotional conversation, Wendy insisted, “Do I seem that way, God damn it! Who I naturally am is who I naturally am! I am not cognitively impaired, you know whatI’mm saying? But I feel likeI’mm in prison”” She expressed frustration at being placed in a facility where residents were much older than her, describing the experience as isolating and deeply unsettling.
The GoFundMe campaign describesWendy’ss current situation as “”deeply isolating”” alleging that her guardian has severed her connections with friends and family, leading to emotional distress for her loved ones. The funds raised are intended to secure legal representation to challenge the guardianship.

In anticipation of the Lifetime special Where Is Wendy Williams?, which focused on her health struggles, Wendy’ss care team issued a statement detailing her medical condition.
The statement explained that Wendy has long been open about her health challenges, including Gravess’s disease and Lymphedema.
However, in 2023, after undergoing a series of medical tests, Wendy was officially diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), conditions that can affect speech, behaviour, and cognitive functions.
Despite these challenges, Wendy’s fans continue to support the star as her family fights to bring her home and improve her quality of life.
