The devastating wildfires raging across Los Angeles have forced over 100,000 residents to evacuate as six massive blazes sweep through the region, destroying more than 1,000 buildings, including the homes of several Hollywood celebrities.
Officials are calling it the most destructive fire in the city’s history.
Among the prominent figures affected, socialite Paris Hilton shared her heartbreak after her Malibu home was consumed by flames.
“I am heartbroken beyond words to see our home burn to the ground,” she wrote on Instagram, reflecting on the tragedy while watching news coverage with her husband, Carter Reum and their children, Phoenix and London.
“This was where Phoenix took his first steps, and we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London,” Hilton added. “While the loss is overwhelming, I am grateful that my family and pets are safe.”
Actor Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, confirmed the loss of their Pacific Palisades home, where they had lived since 1979.
In a joint statement, the couple described their heartbreak: “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing.
Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken, but with the love of our children and friends, we will get through this.”
Crystal praised the resilience of the Pacific Palisades community, calling it “a resilient community of amazing people.”
The destruction extended to other notable stars. Oscar-winning songwriter Diane Warren’s beachside residence of 30 years was reduced to ashes.
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill described a harrowing evacuation, sharing that his family fled “for our lives.”
“This Is Us” actress Mandy Moore expressed shock at the devastation, revealing that her children’s school and favorite local restaurants were among the casualties.
“Our community is broken, but we will rebuild together,” she pledged on social media.
Actors John Goodman, Miles Teller, Eugene Levy, Adam Brody, and Leighton Meester have also reportedly lost their homes, while The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag confirmed their residence was destroyed.
Pratt shared the tragedy on social media, revealing he watched helplessly as his house burned down through security cameras.
As the fires continue to rage, emergency services remain focused on containing the blazes and ensuring the safety of residents, while the affected communities brace for a long and challenging road to recovery.
