A mother and her four daughters were tragically found dead in a hotel room on New Year’s Day in Lucknow, India, in what authorities suspect was a murder tied to a family dispute.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Arshad from Agra, is accused of killing his mother, Asma, and his sisters Alshia (19), Rahmeen (18), Aksa (16), and Alia (9). Arshad was arrested at the crime scene, while his father, Badar, is also a suspect and remains on the run.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveena Tyagi, Arshad allegedly lured his family to Hotel Sharanjit in the Naka area before committing the murders.
“Following the gruesome act, the local police promptly apprehended the accused from the crime scene,” Tyagi stated.
Forensic teams are thoroughly examining the scene, while nearby hotel staff are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
Joint Commissioner of Police Babloo Kumar assured that any findings will be shared with the public once confirmed.
The tragic incident has shocked the community, with investigators continuing to uncover details about the family dispute that led to the murders.
