Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood have separated after a decade of marriage.
The TV presenter, 43, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, addressing her 3.9 million followers with a statement that read: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.”
She emphasized that their children remain their top priority: “Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
The couple married in July 2014, in an intimate London ceremony attended by friends and celebrities, including Holly Willoughby, McBusted, Keith Lemon, and Denise Van Outen. Jesse, 48, is the son of legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.
The pair met in 2011 during a trip to Ibiza and welcomed their first child, Rex, in 2013, followed by their daughter, Honey, in 2015.
A Decade of Marriage and Challenges
In July 2024, Fearne and Jesse celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by recreating a sweet wedding photo in their original outfits. Inspired by David and Victoria Beckham, Fearne posted: “10 years today. And we are back in our wedding outfits (not purple).”
Despite the public celebration, Fearne has been candid in recent years about the challenges of marriage. In 2019, she told The Daily Telegraph: “Every marriage takes work. It doesn’t dilute our love or make our marriage any weaker; it actually makes it stronger because we’re willing to have those conversations.”
Fearne also spoke about balancing family dynamics, particularly as a stepmother to Jesse’s children, Lola and Arthur, from his previous marriage. On Kate Ferdinand’s Blended podcast in 2022, she shared her experiences of step-parenting, saying: “I’m still working it out. But ultimately, when all four children are together and getting on, those are the best times.”
Health Struggles and Moving Forward
News of the split follows a recent health scare for Fearne. Earlier this month, she revealed she had undergone surgery for a benign jaw tumor. Sharing her recovery progress on December 5, she assured fans: “Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.”
Fearne urged her followers to prioritize their health, saying: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked.”
Jesse has previously praised Fearne as an “amazing mother,” reflecting their continued commitment to family despite their separation.
The announcement marks the end of a decade-long relationship in the public eye, with both Fearne and Jesse asking for privacy as they navigate this personal transition.
