Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge recently made a significant personal revelation during her podcast Two Ts in a Pod.

The 57-year-old reality star revealed that she was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder during her first therapy session.

Judge discussed her diagnosis with co-host Teddi Mellencamp on the latest episode, saying, “I am on the spectrum.” She explained that much of her struggles have stemmed from “working through trauma,” which has impacted her emotional development.

Reflecting on her upbringing, Judge noted that her family lacked empathy and affection, which carried over into her adult life. “I just thought things were black and white,” she said. “But after talking and going through everything, I have a hard time with empathy and feeling other people’s feelings.”

Judge also addressed how her diagnosis ties into her social anxiety, admitting that alcohol has been her coping mechanism while filming RHOC. “How I make it through the show is [by] drinking,” she revealed, shedding light on the pressures of reality TV.

She predicted a challenging few months as she undergoes significant changes in her personal life. At the time of the recording, Judge had not yet shared the news of her diagnosis with her husband, Eddie Judge, though she promised to discuss it further with Mellencamp off-air.

Fans quickly took to social media to praise Judge’s bravery for publicly sharing her experience. One Instagram user called it “amazing” that Judge was willing to share such a private self-discovery, describing her openness as “courageous.”

Judge, a longtime cast member of RHOC since 2007, is no stranger to sharing personal details. Last year, she revealed a hospitalisation for an intestinal obstruction, and in August, she opened up about undergoing a brow lift and chemical peel.
