Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Naim Qassem, has made his first public address since the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the group’s leader, in an Israeli attack last Friday.
Meanwhile, Israel intensified its military operations, expanding its attacks beyond Lebanon’s southern suburbs to target the Kola area of Beirut.
This strike killed three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) group.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that Israeli bombardments have claimed the lives of 105 people in the last 24 hours as airstrikes continue across the country. The situation in Gaza remains dire as well, with Israeli attacks killing at least 28 people in the last day. Since October, a staggering 41,595 people have been killed and 96,251 injured in Gaza due to Israeli military actions.
In addition to its ongoing operations in Gaza and Lebanon, Israel has also expanded its reach, targeting a power plant and a seaport in the Yemeni cities of Hodeidah and Ras Isa, resulting in the deaths of at least four people.
The escalation began on October 7, when Hamas launched attacks on Israel, killing at least 1,139 people and capturing more than 200. Since then, tensions across the region have continued to intensify.
