Trump Declares ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT’ Following Her Endorsement of Kamala Harris
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to express his displeasure with pop star Taylor Swift, declaring in all caps, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” This outburst came shortly after Swift publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
Swift, who has previously supported President Biden in the 2020 election, voiced her endorsement of Harris on Instagram following the high-stakes ABC News debate between Trump and Harris last Tuesday. In her post, which she shared with her 284 million followers, Swift praised Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and encouraged voters to research the candidates’ stances on important issues.
Swift’s endorsement was accompanied by a jibe at GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance, referencing his 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, and included a photo of Swift with her Ragdoll cat, Benjamin Button.
Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, praised Swift’s endorsement: “Here’s my life hack for all the guys out there: surround yourself with smart women and listen to them, and you’ll do just fine. That includes my fellow cat owner, Taylor Swift.” He added, “It’s great to have all these women help us beat the smallest man in the world.”

Trump’s allies reacted strongly to Swift’s endorsement. The former president had previously criticised Swift after her support for Biden, suggesting that her endorsement would negatively impact her career. On Fox News, Trump remarked, “It was just a question of time.
You couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. But she’s a very liberal person; she seems always to endorse a Democrat — and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Swift, who had avoided mainly politics before endorsing former Gov. Phil Bredesen (D) in the 2018 Tennessee Senate race, urged her fans to register to vote for the upcoming November 5 presidential election.
Despite her influence among younger voters, her endorsement appears to have had minimal impact on the 2024 election landscape. An ABC News/Ipsos poll revealed that only 6% of voters were more likely to support Harris due to Swift’s endorsement, 13% felt less likely, and 81% said it made no difference.
Similarly, a YouGov poll found that 8% of voters felt Swift’s endorsement made them more likely to vote for Harris, compared to 20% who thought it made them less likely. The majority, 66%, said it had no impact.
