Madonna Stuns at New York Fashion Week Amid Criticism Over Appearance and New Romance

Madonna, 66, made a striking entrance at the Luar runway show during New York Fashion Week on Tuesday evening, showcasing a bold outfit and what appeared to be a newly defined facial look.

The global superstar attended the invite-only event at Rockefeller Plaza, where the luxury brand debuted its Spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection.

The “Like A Prayer” singer stunned in a light brown dress coat featuring dramatic shoulder pads paired with oversized sunglasses.

She completed her look with super-long black latex gloves, fishnet tights, and thigh-high boots while wearing sleek and straight blonde hair.

Despite her age, Madonna continues to embrace a glamorous style, although her appearance has recently sparked online criticism.

Many social media users, including TV personality Piers Morgan, have harshly commented on her looks. Following her appearance at the 2023 Grammys, Morgan compared her to a “Halloween costume” in a controversial post.

In response to the criticism, Madonna hit back on Instagram, addressing the ageism and misogyny she faces. She wrote, “Once again, I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in.

A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 and feels the need to punish her if she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous.”

Other celebrities also made a splash at the Luar event. Rapper Ice Spice attended in a black-and-white Luar-printed dress, styled with her signature orange hair and a black faux fur jacket.

Amanda Lepore, known for her Marilyn Monroe-inspired style, appeared in a tight-fitted blue corset dress, channelling the 1950s star with curls and bright red lipstick.

In her personal life, Madonna has been seen enjoying time with model Akeen, 37 years her junior. The pair were spotted walking arm-in-arm in Portofino last month, shortly before Madonna’s 66th birthday.

Madonna has known Akeen for years, having worked with him on a Paper Magazine shoot in 2022. After her reported breakup with Josh in May, Madonna and Akeen celebrated the Fourth of July weekend together, with the pop icon sharing snapshots of their time on Instagram.
