York Regional Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for 47-year-old Zhixiong Marko Hu in connection with the murder of Markham real estate agent Yuk-Ting Anita Mui.
Mui, 56, was reported missing by her family on August 9. Her new Mercedes-Benz GLE450 SUV was found abandoned on Finch Avenue East and Warden Avenue in Toronto later that same day.
On August 12, three days after her disappearance, Mui’s burned remains were discovered on a property in Parry Sound, Ontario.

Investigators have now identified Hu as a suspect and have seized two vehicles associated with him: a 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with Ontario licence plate CWHW720 and a grey 2021 Porsche Cayenne SUV with Ontario licence plate CTZT172.

Police believe the Sprinter van was used to transport Mui to the property where her body was found. They also suspect that the Porsche may have had a different licence plate attached to it around August 9, 2024, or in the days leading up to that date.
He is currently the only suspect facing a charge of first-degree murder in connection with Mui’s death. Last week, three minors who were found in possession of Mui’s property were charged with fraud under $5,000, with one also facing weapons charges. The minors’ identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
York Regional Police are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicles associated with Hu to contact investigators.
