Manchester, UK – Charlotte Kahl, a 47-year-old burger enthusiast from Winchester, recently embarked on an extraordinary journey to Manchester, travelling over 200 miles each way to experience the renowned Burgerism.
Known for its cult-like following and celebrity endorsements from figures such as Aitch and Tommy Fury, Burgerism has become a must-visit destination for burger lovers across the UK.
Burgers began in a factory unit on West Ashton Street in Salford in 2018 and has since expanded to include delivery locations in Denton, the city centre, Gatley, and a dine-in spot at Freight Island.

Captivated by Burgerism’s smashed burgers showcased on TikTok, Kahl decided to take time off work and make the five-hour trek to the city.
“I’m always on the lookout for new burger places, and having tried many local options, I was eager to try something different,” Kahl explained. “I saw Burgerism online and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I knew I had to make the trip.”

During her visit, Kahl stayed in a nearby hotel, allowing her to order Burgerism’s signature Cheesed burger—featuring two smashed patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and Burgerism sauce in a seeded brioche bun—delivered straight to her room, along with a side of chips.
“The trip was worth it,” Kahl said. “From the first bite, I knew I had found something unique and delicious. The patties were perfectly smashed, the sauce was incredible, and the chips made the meal a 10/10. Burgerism truly deserves its reputation as one of the top burgers in Britain.”
Impressed by her first experience, Kahl visited Burgerism’s Freight Island location the following day for another meal. She admitted to making social plans up north as an excuse to enjoy Burgerism’s offerings again.

Mark Murphy, the founder of Burgerism, expressed his delight at Kahl’s dedication and enthusiasm. “We are thrilled to hear stories like Charlotte’s,” Murphy said. “It’s a testament to our passion for every burger we make.
Our goal has always been to bring restaurant-quality smashed burgers to people’s homes—or, in this case, hotels! Knowing that people are willing to travel such distances to enjoy our food is incredibly rewarding.”
Murphy also teased plans for Burgerism, stating, “We can’t wait to open more outlets across the UK so that everyone can have a bite of Burgerism!”
The story highlights Burgerism’s growing popularity and the lengths fans will go to experience its acclaimed burgers, reinforcing its status as a top destination for burger lovers.
