The Queen Mother set up a $90 million trust fund for her family, with Prince Harry set to access his share when he reached 40, according to the terms of the fund. Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge told Closer they believe Harry does not deserve this financial boost.

“There’s nothing he can do about it, aside from shaking his head, but if it were up to him, Harry would not be getting this payday,” a source revealed. The source added that William views the inheritance as a reward for Harry despite his alleged poor treatment of family members. “William doesn’t think his brother is in any position to be getting this handout, and he’s letting it be known that he thinks it’s a pretty rotten situation.”

Prince Harry’s impending $8.5 million inheritance surpasses the amount Prince William received on his 40th birthday. In contrast, William was honoured with a ceremonial bell concert at Westminster Abbey.

As the heir to the throne, William benefits from the tax-exempt Duchy of Cornwall, which funds his public, charitable, and private activities. However, William will still be liable for taxes on his future commercial earnings.

The inheritance will significantly bolster Harry and Meghan’s net worth, estimated at $60 million. Their wealth has grown through high-profile projects since leaving royal duties in 2020 and relocating to Montecito, California. The couple has also been involved in several tell-all projects, further widening the rift with the Windsor family.

Additionally, Meghan Markle is poised for a significant financial boost with the upcoming launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is expected to earn a seven-figure sum within its first year.
