The 73rd Miss USA Pageant returned to California for the first time since 2007 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, August 4.
The event featured 51 delegates from across the United States competing for the title of Miss USA 2024.
The ceremony was hosted by Garcelle Beauvais of *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills* and Keltie Knight from E! News. Notable reality star Scheana Shay from *Vanderpump Rules* served as one of the judges, impressively accessorizing with black hoop earrings that complemented her mini dress.
Ally Lewber and Lala Kent joined her on the red carpet. Shay also posed with her husband, Brock Davies, and their daughter, Summer Moon Honey Davies.
The pageant saw the participation of contestants representing each state and the District of Columbia. The reigning Miss USA, Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii, was present to crown her successor.
The winner will represent the United States at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. The pageant comes amidst notable changes in the pageant world, including the resignation of Miss Teen USA 2024 Addie Carver and former Miss USA Noelia Voigt, marking the first time winners of these titles have relinquished their crowns. The departures followed criticisms of the pageant’s management and allegations of harassment and poor conditions.
The Miss USA 2024 titleholder will be the latest in a series of beauty queens navigating a complex landscape of public scrutiny and organizational challenges.
