Vice President Kamala Harris, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, is close to finalizing her choice for a running mate and will soon embark on a battleground tour, according to reports from Reuters.
Next week, Harris will visit key battleground states alongside her prospective vice presidential pick, signalling that her decision is imminent.

Potential candidates for the vice presidential slot reportedly include Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Harris ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket just over a week ago after President Biden, under intense pressure from his party, withdrew from the race despite his earlier assurances that he was committed to running. Biden has endorsed Harris as his successor.
Since then, Harris has raised over $200 million and is expected to receive the formal nomination at the Democratic National Convention next month.
