Former President Donald Trump leads in most battleground states against Vice President Kamala Harris, despite her early media support, according to a Redfield and Wilton survey conducted from July 22 to 24.
The poll reveals Trump is ahead or tied with Harris in most of the nine states surveyed, with the exception of Minnesota. Here’s a breakdown of the key findings:
- Minnesota: Harris leads Trump 44% to 41%, with Robert Kennedy Jr. capturing 6%.
- Wisconsin: The race is tied at 44% each for Trump and Harris, with Kennedy at 5%.
- Arizona: Trump leads Harris 46% to 43%, with Kennedy at 4%.
- Florida: Trump is ahead 47% to 39%, while Kennedy has 5%.
- Georgia: Trump leads 47% to 42%, with Kennedy at 3%.
- Michigan: Trump leads 44% to 41%, with Kennedy at 7%.
- Nevada: Trump is ahead 45% to 43%, with Kennedy at 5%.
- North Carolina: Trump leads 46% to 43%, with Kennedy at 4%.
- Pennsylvania: Trump leads Harris at 46% to 42%, with Kennedy at 5%.
If these trends hold, it would represent a significant shift from the 2020 election, where President Biden won all but Florida and North Carolina among these states.
The survey indicates that Trump holds advantages on issues such as the economy, inflation, immigration, crime, national defence, and Israel’s military operations in Gaza. Conversely, Harris is rated higher regarding health care, reproductive rights, and environmental policy.
Additional polling from Emerson College, conducted from July 22 to 23, supports these findings, with Trump holding marginal leads in Arizona (+5), Georgia (+2), Michigan (+1), and Pennsylvania (+2), while both candidates are deadlocked in Wisconsin.
