DUBLIN – Authorities have arrested and charged two men after seizing drugs valued at €977,000 in Dublin over the weekend.
The initial arrest occurred in Tallaght, where a man in his 30s was detained during a stop-and-search operation. Gardaí discovered a quantity of cannabis herb and €800 in cash in his vehicle.
Subsequent follow-up operations led to searches of two premises in Tallaght and Lucan, which were conducted under warrant. These searches uncovered additional quantities of cannabis herb, cannabis resin, and cannabis plants, with an estimated value exceeding €900,000. Various drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Following the searches, a second man in his 40s was arrested.
The confiscated drugs are now set for analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
Both men appeared before Tallaght District Court on Monday morning. Gardaí have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
