A UK prison officer has appeared in court charged with misconduct after allegedly having an illicit act with an inmate in a cell.

Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, of Fulham, south-west London, was charged after a video of the alleged activity was shared on social media.
Appearing in the glass-fronted dock at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, she wore all grey and spoke only to confirm her name, address, and date of birth.
A police investigation was launched on Friday after officers were made aware of a video that was said to have been filmed inside HMP Wandsworth in south London.
During the footage, the inmate filming the sex act joked: “This is how we live at Wandsworth.”
Clothes can be seen heaped over a bunk bed inside the cell.
A friend who is smoking while recording says: “Guys, we’ve made history; this is what I’m telling you.”
An arrest was made later that day, and De Sousa Abreu was charged with misconduct in public office on Saturday, police added.
The mother was arrested at Heathrow Airport, the court heard and was due to catch a flight to Madrid, having notified the prison of her travel plans.
At one point, someone appears to try to enter the cell, and the man filming can be heard saying to the person on the other side of the door: “Give me a minute, one second.”
The incident allegedly happened at Wandsworth between June 26-28.
De Sousa Abreu, who holds a Portuguese passport, was granted conditional bail and will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on July 29.
