Former President Donald Trump has emerged victorious in a recent debate performance poll against President Biden, according to Schoen Cooperman Research.

The survey of 500 registered voters familiar with the debate revealed that 51% believed Trump won, while only 23% favoured Biden.

An additional 14% said they believed the contest was a draw, while 12% said they weren’t sure who won.

The poll underscored concerns over Biden’s performance, with over half of voters noting it was worse than expected. Conversely, 17% perceived Trump’s performance as underwhelming.

Many respondents viewed Trump’s demeanour as more presidential than Biden’s during the debate.

Trump’s ability to dispel doubts about his fitness for office was highlighted in the survey. In contrast, Biden’s performance raised concerns about his age and suitability for the presidency, with nearly 75% expressing increased apprehension.

Despite Trump’s strong showing, the poll indicated little change in the electoral landscape, with 47% of respondents supporting Trump compared to 43% for Biden. A critical 10% remained undecided.

The survey, equally divided between Democrat and Republican respondents, also pointed to Biden’s higher unfavourable ratings than Trump’s.

Pollster Carly Cooperman emphasized Trump’s success in improving perceptions and surpassing performance expectations, particularly in addressing concerns about appearing chaotic.

Conversely, Biden’s debate performance deepened existing doubts about his presidential readiness.

These findings echoed a CNN survey post-debate, which similarly indicated Trump’s dominance over Biden in public perception.

Biden has reaffirmed his commitment to continue campaigning in response to mounting pressure to withdraw from the race.

On Truth Social, Trump lauded his debate performance as “the greatest in the long and storied history of Presidential Debates.”
