Boy, 13, locked up for two years for killing grandmother with her own car

A 13-year-old boy who ran over and killed 60-year-old grandmother Marcia Grant with her car has been sentenced to two years in custody.

Marcia Grant, 60, suffered catastrophic injuries outside her home in the Greenhill area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, as she and her husband tried to stop the boy from taking their vehicle on April 5.

The boy received his sentence at Sheffield Crown Court today after a judge found him guilty of causing her death by dangerous driving.

Mrs Justice May, presiding, heard how the boy ran over Marcia Grant outside her Sheffield home despite the frantic attempts of her husband, Delroy, to stop him.
