Prince Harry “On His Own” After Criticizing Queen Camilla, Says Royal Author
Prince Harry is now “on his own” following his repeated criticisms of Queen Camilla, as a royal author states.
The Duke of Sussex’s strained relationship with his stepmother has worsened following the release of his controversial memoir, “Spare,” last year.
Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News that King Charles has been unable to forgive his son for the harsh revelations in the book. “I think people have to realize that the one thing that Charles finds unforgivable is criticism of Camilla,” Andersen said.
“There’s no criticism of Camilla. And unfortunately for Harry, he said some pretty devastating things about her. He made it clear that he felt she was the villain in the piece.”
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have reportedly attempted to initiate peace talks, but their efforts have been unsuccessful.
“I think that still bothers the King, and I don’t know that it will be easy for him to forgive. I don’t think they’ll ever forgive Harry for that,” Andersen stated. “[He’s] on his own.”
Harry’s sentiments towards Queen Camilla, 76, were bluntly expressed in his memoir. He labelled her as “dangerous” and “the villain” and accused her of leaking stories about the royal family to enhance her public image.
“I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar,” he wrote.
Harry described meeting Camilla—whom he referred to as the “other woman” in his book—like an “injection,” writing, “Close your eyes and you won’t even feel it.”
The memoir’s revelations reportedly left Camilla “hurt,” according to her friend, and profoundly impacted the royal family, especially King Charles. The King, 75, has allegedly asked Harry to stop sharing private family details with the media.
Despite the deteriorating relationship with his father and stepmother, Harry and Meghan have reportedly reached out to their sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, ahead of her appearance at Trooping the Colour last week.
However, it remains uncertain whether these overtures will help mend the significant rifts within the royal family.
