Performing at the famous football stadium for the second of three nights, the international pop icon, 34, expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans, showcasing her down-to-earth side despite her global superstar status.

The Liverpool crowd left a “stunning impression” on Taylor, who stopped the concert after a captivating performance of “Champagne Problems” to take in the roaring applause.

Removing her earpieces and ceasing to sing, she soaked in the cheers for several minutes.

“Wow. This is one of the most expressive, genuine, generous crowds I’ve ever been in front of,” she exclaimed. “I’ve made so many best friends out here tonight. I am so lucky to get to play a show for people like you and to get to meet you.

Thank you so, so much for that. I love you.”

Taylor admitted she has been having “the most fun” in Liverpool. During her second show on Merseyside, she told the crowd, “I also know that the reason it’s the most fun is because I’ve never played for such enthusiastic, generous crowds in my entire life.”

Fans, known as Swifties, have affectionately dubbed the city “Loverpool.” Taylor Nation, the official account for all things Taylor Swift, shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) of Taylor performing “You Need To Calm Down.” They captioned it:

“On this 5th anniversary of You Need To Calm Down, we hereby declare #LiverpoolTSTheErasTour ‘Loverpool! ‘Cause at #TSTheErasTour, we want you to be who you are, love who you want, and let us see your HANDS.”

The song has become an anthem for LGBTQ+ Swifties, addressing hate against the community with lyrics like: “You just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace / And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate / ‘Cause shade never made anybody less gay.”

Taylor Swift’s performances at Anfield have undoubtedly left a lasting impact, with both the artist and the audience sharing moments of genuine connection and mutual admiration.
