Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been left off the Trooping the Colour invitation list for the second year in a row, as per a report by People on Tuesday.
The annual event, which commemorates the official birthday of the British sovereign, King Charles III, is scheduled to occur on June 15.
Page Six has reached out to representatives for the Sussexes and King Charles but has not received an immediate response.
Despite resigning from their roles as senior members of the royal family in 2020, Queen Elizabeth II permitted the couple to make a subtle appearance at the 2022 Trooping the Colour parade.
Markle was photographed conversing in the Major General’s Office at Buckingham Palace during the kick-off event for the Queen’s four-day Platinum Jubilee celebration.
However, the absence of Harry and Markle from the Buckingham Palace balcony photos during the same event raised eyebrows.
Instead, the Queen was joined by Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children.
Sources disclosed to The Post at the time that royal courtiers were purportedly concerned that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would overshadow the monarch if they participated in the photo opportunity.
Since assuming his mother’s royal duties after her demise in September 2022, Prince Charles has seemingly taken a firmer stance on Harry and Meghan’s involvement in royal affairs.
The King chose not to invite the Sussexes to his inaugural Trooping the Colour last year. In March, he ordered the removal of Harry and Meghan’s biographies from the royal family’s website.
The couple’s biography section now reads: “As announced in January 2020, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as working members of The Royal Family.”
Harry briefly visited the UK in February to see his father after his cancer diagnosis, but their interactions have reportedly been limited since Charles has been busy.
This year’s Trooping the Colour may be further scaled back as Middleton is contending with her own cancer battle.
The Princess of Wales will resume her role as the honorary colonel of the Irish Guards but will not attend the traditional Colonel’s Review on June 8. Middleton is also reportedly undecided about participating in the annual balcony shot.
