Tourist dead after plunging off cliff at New York State Park
Tragedy struck at Minnewaska State Park as Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, a 39-year-old tourist from Singapore, lost her life in a fatal fall from a cliff while taking photos with her husband.
The incident occurred at the Beacon Hill Trail, prompting an immediate 911 call from her husband, Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said.
Emergency response teams, including the New York State Police’s aviation unit, swiftly arrived. The victim was airlifted from the landing site and transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ulster County, where she was later pronounced dead. The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
This incident has ignited discussions regarding safety protocols within state parks and emphasizes the importance of caution when photographing in potentially hazardous locations.
