New Jersey resident Korey Cunningham was found dead in his home, as reported by local news outlet RLS Media.
Law enforcement sources have informed the media that Cunningham’s death resulted from a self-inflicted incident.
On Friday morning, the New York Giants released a statement expressing their sorrow over Cunningham’s untimely death.
They remembered him as a vital component of the team’s spirit and camaraderie within the locker room, extending their sympathies to his family, friends, and teammates.
Reports surfaced of an unconscious individual at Cunningham’s residence on Thursday, prompting police and emergency services to respond around 3:30 p.m.
Approximately an hour later, the medical examiner arrived to retrieve the body.
Cunningham, a former player for the Giants, Cardinals, and Patriots, began his football journey at the University of Cincinnati before being drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He started in all six games he played during his rookie season with the Cardinals.
Following his rookie year, Cunningham was traded to the New England Patriots for a sixth-round draft pick. He spent two seasons with the Patriots, appearing in 12 games.
