At least 94 Palestinians were killed overnight in Gaza, including dozens attempting to access humanitarian aid, according to the Hamas-run health ministry and hospital officials.
The deaths come amid intensifying conflict and growing international condemnation over the humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave.
Health authorities in Gaza said that 45 people were killed while seeking aid across various locations, including five near distribution sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an American NGO supported by both the US and Israeli governments.

The foundation has been a central actor in aid distribution since Israel lifted its 11-week blockade of the territory last month.
An additional 40 deaths were reported near other aid lines, while 15 people were killed in the Muwasi zone in southern Gaza, where thousands of displaced Palestinians are sheltering in tent encampments. Another 15 civilians reportedly died when an Israeli strike hit a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has yet to state the reported strikes and fatalities. Witnesses and Palestinian officials have accused Israeli forces of opening fire on civilians near aid distribution points. The sites, run by the GHF, are protected by private security firms and are located in proximity to Israeli military positions.
An investigation by Sky News earlier this week found a correlation between increased civilian deaths and the timing of GHF aid distributions, raising questions about the safety of humanitarian operations in conflict zones.
UN Expert Calls for Global Sanctions on Israel
In a scathing address to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese described the situation in Gaza as “apocalyptic” and accused Israel of carrying out “one of the cruellest genocides in modern history.”
Albanese called on member states to suspend all trade relations with Israel, implement a full arms embargo, and ensure that corporations supporting Israeli military actions or settlement expansion face legal accountability.
Her report identifies over 60 companies alleged to be complicit in violations of international law through their operations in Israeli-occupied territories and Gaza. “This is not just a list—it is a system that must be dismantled,” she said.

Israel’s diplomatic mission in Geneva swiftly rejected the claims, calling Albanese’s report “legally groundless, defamatory, and a flagrant abuse of her office.”
The UN’s response underscores escalating international concern over Israel’s conduct in Gaza, where more than 30,000 people have reportedly been killed since hostilities resumed in October 2023 following Hamas’s deadly attack on southern Israel.
Growing Pressure
The mounting death toll, combined with widespread displacement and limited access to clean water, food, and medical care, has prompted global calls for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian access.
Diplomatic efforts to mediate a truce remain stalled as Israel continues its military operations in response to the Hamas-led assault that killed over 1,200 Israelis and took hundreds hostage nearly nine months ago.
With the humanitarian situation worsening and trust in distribution systems eroding, aid agencies warn that Gaza may be on the brink of total collapse.
