A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a 13-year-old girl in Hessle, East Yorkshire, on Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 6:50 AM, prompting an immediate response from Humberside Police.
The suspect, whose identity cannot be disclosed due to legal reasons, faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on Monday, November 4.
According to a police spokesperson, officers responded to reports of concern for safety after the girl was found injured on the side of the A63 road. Upon arrival, they discovered she had sustained multiple lacerations to her neck, abdomen, chest, and back. She was rushed to the hospital, where she remains in serious but stable condition.
In connection with the investigation, police conducted an area search and arrested six teenagers in a nearby wooded area on suspicion of attempted murder. Three boys, aged 15, 16, and 17, along with two girls, aged 14 and 15, have since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they continue their inquiries.
